For a Marketing internship, we will either be preparing to launch Compt to the world in the middle of launching or have just launched! Depending on which stage we'll be at, the work will differ slightly, but each stage is important and an excellent opportunity for career experience and development.

We're currently looking for a Marketing co-op on a full-time basis (up to 40 hours/week). You will be instrumental in building and supporting our business' marketing efforts to solve for immediate goals, as well as the long-term. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and own several key campaigns to assist in the launch, as well as public launch of our software. A prior project in which an intern worked on was planning, building, and launching the Company Culture Index (the largest database of company culture initiatives online). This project generated 1,200 visitors to the newly launched Compt University in two days and set the foundation for our company's marketing content.
  • Support the VP of Marketing to develop full-stack marketing efforts including: creating marketing assets (blogs, landing pages, & sales collateral); conducting community outreach to further develop our People First community; growing social media presence, and developing relationships with journalists in our industry; planning and promoting events; and optimizing email communication and marketing automation.
  • Work cross-functionality with engineers, sales, and CEO (a total team of four) to provide market feedback and insights to improve the product and customer support programs.

A bit about our team and culture:

Our team is small but experienced, passionate, and scrappy. Our cofounder and CEO, Amy Spurling, has been CFO and COO of several excellent companies in the Boston tech ecosystem and frequently speaks on diversity, the future of work, and workplace culture. James, our CTO, has 30+ years of experience and has been a key player at many Boston pillar companies. And our cofounder and VP of Marketing, Sarah Bedrick, has a background in product and marketing and spent 6.5 years at HubSpot developing their HubSpot Academy team from scratch. Our other team members include Andrew Innocent who is an engineer, with a background in CPA. And Saad Munir, our new VP of Sales, who is experienced at enterprise sales and emphasizes a focus on helping versus selling.

Our culture is close-knit as we're a small team and hard working. We prefer to work smart versus hard and have a culture where we focus on leaning into each other's strengths so that we can bring the best out of each other. Also, we mostly work remote on Mondays and Fridays.

We'd love to lean into the strengths of our coop while also helping them to gain the experience they want but might not yet have. As this is a startup, there's a lot of work to be done, a lot of things to own, and we want to use this opportunity to help our coop gain startup marketing experience while being able to put their name on several key projects that can build an impressive portfolio for the future. Lastly, as our team is experienced, we'd love to help you grow your network as well with introductions to people in the Boston ecosystem.
